Social Studies Work

This week on social study we have learned about what is Racism in NZ. There is an article about a Muslim girl that is named Zeinab's. She was once shy about his culture and then when the mosque shooting happens she has realised that she doesn't need to be shy about it. She had realise that she need to be more proud of her own culture.

This is the words that she said when she became proud of her own culture:

Today, instead of straightening away my brown frizzy curls I will embrace them.

Instead of shying away from my family when they speak Arabic loudly in public, I will join them.

Instead of saying no to someone when they ask ”say something in your language,” I will say it.

Instead of telling my mum to make English food when my friends come over for dinner, I will ask her to make all the Arabic dishes she can think of.

Instead of denying the roots of my name, I will admit that they are Muslim, I will tell you I was born a Muslim, and I will tell you that no matter if I identify as it or not, I will still die a Muslim.

Today, I will join my mum as she reads the Quran, as she prays to Allah for the people who lost their lives, the people injured, and the people hurting.

Trolley problem dilemma

Situation: There are five people stuck on a rail way track, you have an option to flick the switch to divert the train to save the five people but there is another guy on the other train track. I would kill the one person.

My reason to sacrificed the one person is because im saving more people and i could only tell one family instead of telling five family's. And the five people would thank me for saving them. So its unfortunately i sacrificed one person. And i would be the hero.

Music: Matariki

Today I will be blogging about what we have been working on in Music for the past few weeks. We were looking at Matariki and were required to research about it, recording it in a slideshow. There were four tasks assigned for us to complete, including detailed answers and interesting information. I hope you enjoyed viewing my post and learn something from my work.

Beatles

‘We Are Growing Up' When the Beatles arrived in New Zealand at Wellington Airport on 21 June 1964, they were cheered on by crowds of rapturous youths. For devotees of popular music, in the mid-1960s the four Liverpudlians were simply the greatest musicians in their genrel anywhere in the world. Of course, looking back at the images of throngs of hysterical girls with faces pressed hard against wire fences, screaming themselves hoarse as they caught a glimpse of their musical idols, it all seems a bit ridiculous, a bit excessive ... The songs of the Beatles and their contemporaries (including the local Beatles pastiche?, Ray Columbus and the Invaders, with their huge hit “She's a Mod”) were listened to by a generation of youths who felt that they were suddenly liberated from many of the inhibitions of their parents, and who believed that only they knew how to enjoy themselves properly.

This tells us that teens are sins and
